Review Amaranth Messaline Ultra Hydrating Cream

Editorial

Earlier this month, I was sent a beauty box from Korea by BNT News International.

BNT Girls
Basically it is similar to our BlackBox or StylexStyle beauty box. The only difference is this box is sent to bloggers for editorial reviews; and it is a box of Korean beauty goodies that you mostly can't find in Singapore (but you will be able to locate online.)

Here is glimpse of what's inside the black box.
BNT Beauty Bloggers

With gratitude to BNT News, I have received FIVE items! I will be reviewing these babies ONE by ONE, so stay tuned for my reviews! ( Since I am given a non-negotiable deadline to finish all FIVE reviews in a month, be sure I will do so by end of July. Pinky promise. Haha!)

For starters, I picked out my most favourite product to share my thoughts:

As shown above, this bottle comes with a box and dressed in a luxe elegant blue colour. The bottle is made of high quality plastic and fitted with a hygienic pump with a cap,  and I like packaging with pumps. The only downside of this packaging is since the colour is opaque, you won't know when the product is finishing until the last drop.
It also comes with a information booklet cum instruction manual.

The oddity that struck me was... why is there a Samsung logo on a beauty product?? Perhaps Amaranth is affiliated with Samsung. But it sure amused me for a second to see my favourite cell phone brand printed on my moisturiser.

The Ultra Hydrating cream is part of a 4 step skincare series. It claims to gives elasticity and delivers moisture to skin with a plethora of natural plant ingredients, including Rosa Centifolia Flower Water, Panax Ginseng Root Extract and Chamomilla Recutita Flower Extract. If you use Korean skincare frequently and check their ingredients religiously, you will know that these are commonly used in higher end Korean beauty products.

My skin loves Panax Ginseng and this herb really does rejuvenate my skin! Usually products with ginseng give off a herbal smell that may not be palatable to everyone. However, this Amaranth one has a refreshing, faint floral undertones that kind of musks the herbal scent away. I actually love this scent very much!

The pump dispenses the right amount of product. But when my skin needs further hydration, I use up to two pumps.

The white colour cream looks translucent and clean and smooths onto my skin well.

Look how quickly absorbed it is!

My Thoughts

As so claimed, it really does smoothen my face instantly and revitalise it, meaning my skin looks brighter and more youthful. With two silicones in the ingredient list, it is no wonder. Therefore, I'd say this works awesome as a primer cum moisturiser if you are in a rush for time.
Hydration-wise, since my skin is combination/oily, it is a dream-come-true for me. Being lightweight is another plus point. I find myself reaching out for it day in and day out. I even brought along to my latest Germany trip, and it works well in both hot/humid Singapore climate and in colder/dryer German climate. However, it might not be sufficient to dry skin. Dry skin types will do better if they layer this with another face cream.

Rating:
(If you have oily & dehydrated skin, and are desperate for a simple hydrating moisturiser for daily use.)
