These four products are conveniently packaged in exquisite packaging, and this makes them super travel-friendly. I adore all of them but I am only going to talk more about my number one & two passion - cushion and lipsticks. :)

True Match Cushion (SPF 33 PA+++) SGD30.90

Available in 3 shades. Mine is N1 Nude Ivory

Housed in a reflective silver & white case, the exterior doubles up as the second mirror. This cushion feels so compact and handy, I literally take it everywhere I go for easy touch ups and quickly realised touchups are not necessary.

Coverage

In my opinion, this cushion beats all other drugstore cushion on the market now in terms of coverage. Ultra-high in coverage, you can skip concealer unless you have absolutely dark scarring. It can also disguise huge pore size in a few quick taps.

Finish

Matte, but not flat at all. The cushion foundation dries up to a satin finish and you can instantly see how three dimensional your skin looks! It's amazing how matte the finish feels, yet your face appears to be so smooth & plumped it's as if you had some dermal fillers injected. Haha! Best thing yet? No tackiness, stickiness whatsoever and no setting powder needed even for oily skin. Talk about real travel-convenience. 

Lasting Power

It markets itself to last 14 hours. I didn't have the chance to test that out myself - I never needed to leave on my makeup for that long (thank God.) However after 8 hours, makeup looks fresh as before and no touch ups were necessary at all!

No edit, no filter, no concealer, no setting powder, no other makeup except lip balm

Color Riche Paris Fashion Week Moist Matte Lipsticks SGD21.80

Four new matte shades. 

Initially, le silly me kinda mistaken these as an extension to Rouge Magique line as they were mattes as well. But later on I realised they are from another range holding up on its own. Different formulation from Rouge Magique, Color Riche is formulated with Light Illumi™ complex, velvet fusion powder and pure pigments.

They feel extremely smooth & glide on like no other. Pay attention to the contour of the lipstick tip - can you see it is designed with a slight dent (refer pic above)? Makes the product looks classy and application, a dream.

My favourite shade in 232 Beige Couture

Their shades are very wearable except for the purple shade, which may not suit everyone's palettes.

On a personal level, Rouge Magique has already reached my HG level in the category of beautiful matte lippies, so this Color Riche range appeals less to me. Moreover, I didn't like how my lips started peeling after a day's wear.

L'Oréal  Paris Singapore launches NEW lipsticks again! 

We still haven't quite gotten over the stunning 24K Gold lipsticks last December; yet L'Oréal outdid themselves this time - enticing us with a set of matte lipsticks consisting of 20 shades that are rather unique and unlike most drugstore lip colours.  

Fun Fact: Singapore is the first country to be introduced to their FULL collection of 20 shades this March 2017!

 L'Oréal Rouge Magique

Enriched with nourishing oils, pure matte pigments and hydrating honey, the ultra-gliding L'Oréal Rouge Magique delivers intense matte colours onto the lips. Housed in chic metallic pink & matte black cases, these lippies are designed to capture the heart of every lipstick lover. From wearable nudes, boldest browns, vibrant pinks & reds to trendy mauves & purples - you name it, this collection owns it!

As mentioned, there are 20 shades with a corresponding number and name. For convenience sake, I will only be stating their numbers on my swatches. So here comes the closeup swatches!

Spotted any of your favourite shades yet? Well, I did at first glance! There are too many, and I know how these could get confusing for you. To spare you the pain of selection, I tested all the 20 shades on my lips. (L'Oréal Paris Singapore has their official lip swatches photographed HERE as well. But just in case you are a bit skeptical of official photos, here are my layman takes - totally unedited in its truest form...)

All these swatches are applied with 2 - 3 layers of product on my own lips. No foundation nor lip primer; just a light layer of colourless lip balm in between these swatches. (You know, my lips peeled like insanity after swatching 20 lipsticks at one go!)

MY THOUGHTS

All the colours are so beautiful, I can't find any that I personally won't wear. I feel that at least 90% of them are super wearable and very universal, meaning - these will suit most skin tones. 

Texture is matte, but certain shades (especially the bolder/darker ones) reflect a sheen to it. Hence, I wouldn't consider these babies absolute matte. They are so so so smooth, glides on like heaven - you simply can't believe matte lipsticks can feel that way!

Lasting power is satisfactory - as long as you do not expect it to stay on after an oily meal, then this product wouldn't disappoint you. It lasted me through a night of only drinks, no meal.

At an affordable price of S$19.90, I say: GET AS MANY AS YOU LIKE!!

Which shades are my personal favourites, you ask? 

That's the most challenging question of all! IF I really had to pick (well in reality, I didn't have to...and I won't want to choose!), these are my lucky seven choices!

I have a personal fondness for reds since my cabin crew days, so in every lipstick collection - they are my must-haves. 

Tip for cabin crew interview : If you look good in red lipsticks, wear L'Oréal Rouge Magique #911 or #913 and flaunt it! These two are the exact shade matches for Singapore Airlines cabin crew official lip colours.

I usually don't look too good in browns or nudes, but surprisingly #932, 931, 904, 901 turned out remarkable. #930 is my safe haven, everyday sort of colour - a nice sweet muted coral that's universally flattering.

Too Faced Sweet Peach Collection : Unsponsored Honest Thoughts and First Impressions

Too Faced has experienced huge success in 2016 with its soft launch of  Sweet Peach Eyeshadow Palette. Sephora (Singapore and worldwide) saw a major soldout on the first few days it reached the shelves.

I missed the purchase opportunity too.

That's why when Too Faced annouced Sweet Peach is going to make a comeback with a FULL collection, everyone went crazy and waited...and waited.

THE WAIT IS OVER IN SINGAPORE!

But one question that is on the many people's mind.... IS THIS WORTH THE HYPE?

As you can see, mine is not a full collection because I paid out of my own pockets (bought from the States during my last holiday). Hence, disclaimer first: THIS IS NOT A FULL REVIEW on the full collection. This post portrays a brief and honest first impressions of the two items I have in my stash at the moment.

SWEET PEACH GLOW Highlighting Palette (SGD62)

I swatched the whole collection back in New York's Sephora stores earlier this month. Although I have heard some negative reviews on this highlighter palette, I went with my gut and purchased it.

The peach-infused scent just gets to you... #resistanceisfutile. As for the "skin-loving ingredients" as per its claims, I couldn't be sure. The list sure is a long one. 

Texture-wise, it feels smooth...not buttery-smooth, but good enough. The pigmentation is a little lighter than usual Too Faced blushers/highlighters, but this could be a plus point if you're looking for something more natural.

This palette is warm-toned and suitable for almost everyone, unless you are not into shimmers. All three shades contains fine shimmers which illuminates the skin subtly. The highlighter is really pretty in real life and very visible despite it not showing up as well in photos here. The bronzer is more pale than regular bronzers and it definitely wouldn't work well as sculpting powder. However, when you layer over the coral blusher in the pan, the duo pairs perfectly and a natural glow instantly endows the face!

Keyword here: Natural.

If you're looking for a Westernised, more obvious type of strobing/contouring effect, then this palette is not for you. Personally, I love it! It brings colours back to my pale face. I supposed fairer skin types who wants to look warmer will enjoy this palette most.

Closer look

CREAMY PEACH OIL LIP GLOSS (SGD29)

Total of 8 shades

Shade: Tickle-Me-Peach

The reason why I picked up only one lip gloss is because of the dominance of nude-pink shades in the entire collection - I have too many nudes & pinks. There are only two brighter colours; and out of the two, only Tickle-Me-Peach managed to tickle my heart.

This lip gloss smells and tastes so divine, to the point even if you're like me who don't really like the shade range, you will want to pick up at least one!

Another plus point : this lip gloss moisturizes the lips supremely well. The moisture stays for a long time, even after the color wore off.

For my shade of choice, it is melon orange which fades down to a soft coral stain. As with other lip glosses, this couldn't last through a meal so touchups are necessary. Trust me, you will look forward to frequent touchups! Yummy.

If I had to answer the question of worth (and whether you should buy any), I'd say...

Get it. At least the eyeshadow palette. (Which I am going to score on sephora.sg, as we are speaking...)

Why?

• You'll never find another makeup line with such lovely peachy scent or taste.
• Product quality is excellent, like most Too Faced makeup.
• The package is too cute to resist!
• Your vanity needs it. (Both your vanity table and your inner-vanity, a.k.a vainess)

The last point is the most important. Ahem.

Beauty News: RMK COLOUR CHANGE Event + 1st Impressions of RMK 2017 Spring Summer Makeup Collection

To mark RMK's 20th birthday, the brand has picked pink & beige hues to kick start its anniversary celebration. RMK's Creative Director, Kaori, came up with a refreshing take on these chosen hues and incorporated into the core of RMK Spring/Summer 2017 makeup collection.

RMK Colour Change SS 2017 is all about fun, vibrancy and creativity while expressing one self through her makeup regime. I had the pleasure to witness for myself first hand how the brand's senior makeup artist Mr Toru Kobayashi create different day & night looks using the new collection; which later on I will try my hands to replicate onto my face!

The entire collection consists of lipgloss, lipstick, nail polish, eyeshadow, blusher (which can function as highlighter), highlighter and bronzer (that can double up as eyeshadows). This is a massive line of make up that takes you as far as your imagination can!

RMK Face Pop Eyes, $58. 

6 Limited Edition Shades

With pink and beige as main themes, medium browns and dark browns are included in the eyeshadow collection to help create a beautiful blend on the eye lids. The shimmering pinks contains iridescent specks of glitter that is really attention-grabbing when applied on the middle of lids.

Faithy's Application Tip: For hooded Asian eyelids, go easy on the pinks that contains bigger specks of glitter. Remember to tightline your lash line with dark brown or black eyeliner, curl your lashes and apply mascara to complete the look.

RMK Face Pop Creamy Cheeks and 

RMK Face Pop Powder Cheeks, $49.

4 Limited Edition Shades and 

3 Limited Edition Shades respectively.

The four pink shades in Creamy Cheeks is used as a cream blusher and has a soft and airy finish. Comes with a sponge, however, you may also use your fingers to softly dab and blend to create effortless chic looks. With the exception of 01 Silver Pink which can double up as a highlighter, the rest of the pinks are sweet, sensual kind of shades showing on the cheeks nicely.

The three brown/coral shades in Powder Cheeks sets a more mature yet playful and adventurous tone, and comes in a pressed powder form, leaving a lustrous sheen finish on the skin. These work well as bronzesrs too; or you may want to layer on a pink blusher to create more depth & dimension to the face. Since it contains shimmers, it is not recommended to use as your regular matte sculpting/contour powder. However, shades such as 01 Soft Brown and 02 Soft Coral are perfect to be worn alone on the eyes for more definition!

Faithy's Application Tip:

1. Use your ring finger, dab a little of 02 Soft Coral  and spread evenly on the entire lid to instantly brighten your peepers! Very fast & convenient during the morning hustle.
2. Using your thumb, tap & blend 01 Soft Brown under the hollows of your cheek bones to contour your cheeks, giving a slimmer look to your face. Remember to blend together with your other shades of pink blusher!

RMK Face Pop Creamy Lips and 

RMK Face Pop Matt Lips, $45.

4 Limited Edition Shades and 

3 Limited Edition Shades respectively.

Creamy Lips is a collection of four beige based lip colours with a moisturizing formula, making it a breeze to glide onto the lips. Through its clever combination of pearl types, they perfectly complement different skin tones. Despite their subtle differences, the most apparent and pigmented nude colour here would be 04 Red Beige - a universal MLBB colour suitable for every skin tone.

Matt Lips, as its name suggested, sees a collection of matte lipsticks. Despite being marketed as "matte", they feels vastly different from other matte lipsticks you will find in the current market. The texture is light, smooth, creamy and completes with a brillant matte finish. Bold and vivid, all the pink colours are surprisingly flattering and natural-looking at the same time!

Faithy's Application Tip: Create your favourite K-ombre lips using pinks in the centre, nudes on the outer edges of the lips. OR you can apply your preferred pink shade first, and top it off with Creamy Cheeks #01 Silver Pink to create fuller lips! The possibilities are limitless!

RMK Face Pop W Stick Gloss, $58.

W Stick Gloss - a dual end lip gloss that carries the two main hues, pink & beige. One side is the Jelly Gloss (a thick gel on the pink side) with a plastic strip applicator, and the other is the Colour Gloss (a creamier beige colour gloss)with a sponge felt tip,  that melts onto the lips to create a two-dimensional juicy effect when combined. Allow your look to match your mood or fit your style, with one gloss stick.

Faithy's Application Tip: Lip gloss on its own is not pigmented at all, so layer on top of a lipstick will produce a prettier, fuller lip effect. 04 Glam Glitter has the most potential to hold on its own without another layer of lipstick underneath - check out my above swatch! MY THOUGHTS ON THE ENTIRE RMK SS17 COLLECTION

I repeat, this whole Color Change collection is a limited edition to commemorate RMK's 20th anniversary, so this is by far the most comprehensive & huge makeup range from RMK ever! Base on this thought alone, we know how special this entire collection is to RMK and RMK fans & supporters.

COLOURS

Personally, I love pink & beige - it's my kind of colour combi and I believe many women love these hues too! This collection has a good mix of cool tones & warm tones makeup, so I believe even if you think you can't wear pink, you WILL find something you like here. Overall, the glitters reflect more of a blue, pearlescent effect - so this could be a hit or miss with some skin tones.

TEXTURE

RMK has excellent hydration & moisture in their formulas, so application and comfort is a score. This RMK SS17 stash particularly loves shimmer, glitters, sheen; so all of the makeup exudes some party/glamour vibes...yet they are very wearable, even in the day! That's the unique point about this collection. Glam yet down-to-earth, in a special way.

LONGEVITY

Apart from the lip gloss which hold zero lasting power, the rest held up pretty good on my face for 6 hours at least - no melting, sliding of sorts. Lipsticks can last through drinks, no meals.

PACKAGING

In case you want to see the outer packaging, it is a sleek metallic silver carton box, housing a fuss-free white transluscent plastic case. Very Japanese-style. Very minimalistic & classy. The theme of white & silver reminds me of Winter snow, and pink & beige reminds me of Spring blooms...so it feels like a transition of cool winter to warm spring.

VALUE (And Products I highly recommend)

RMK is a premium Japanese beauty brand with quality on par with its price point. Creamy Cheeks and Powder Cheeks are not to be missed! They have multi functions - blusher, bronzer, eyeshadow and highlighter and furthermore, the colours are all so gorgeous! Eyeshadow shades such as 03 Red Brown Beige and 06 Silver Mauve Beige are distinctively beautiful - it's hard to find a dupe! So yes, must buy! I also adore their pink lipsticks, especially 03 Holographic Sheer Pink because of the attractive blue undertones and alluring shimmers that is bound to be a talking point when you wear to dinner gatherings/parties with girlfriends!

I am still not quite sold on their lip glosses though - felt like this is a bane of their existence. Haha! Too sticky and too sheer for my liking. Not worth the $58 even though it gives you two colours (shades that you can hardly differentiate in any case) in one stick. Other than the lip glosses, I believe this entire collection is a nice splurge to pamper yourself and to... of course, hoard on your vanity. :)
